Website Update (7-11-2010)

Our precious guru, Very Venerable Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, gave teaching on the Path of Liberation (Mahamudra), Level 4 and 5 at the Sheraton Hotel in Flushing , New York from June 21-24. Our guru also gave Karmapashi empowerment and refuge on the last day of the teaching. Because of the volunteers' hard work, the programs went smoothly and every participant felt the joy of Dharma.

The Welcome Banquet was held at the Mudan Banquet Hall in Queens Crossing. At the banquet, our guru told a story which pointed out how different perspectives lead to diverse realities. He also announced that to fulfill a vow he made 10 years ago, he will enter a 3-year retreat which begins in May 2011. Our precious guru said he will keep us in his prayers while he is in the retreat; and when we meet again, he'll have higher teachings and more stories to share with us. Towards the end of the banquet, we raised our glasses to a toast for guru's good health, a wonderful retreat and a speedy return. It was so moving and sentimental that it brought tears to many eyes. At that moment, it started to rain. It was as if Buddha felt the sadness of the departure too.>>>Photo links
